📚 Park Books on Main: Where Stories (and Friendships) Begin

Last Updated 8/14/2025

When Melody took the reins of Park Books on Main this year, she didn’t just step into a beloved indie bookstore — she joined a downtown family.

Park Books may be celebrating 18 years in business, but under Melody’s fresh leadership, this Main Street gem continues to thrive in ways that go well beyond books. As she puts it:

“Being part of the Downtown Sykesville Connection has made the transition from owning one store in a different county so much easier. This group has been such a support—from getting to know the other business owners to scheduling great events which bring the community together and into the local downtown stores.”

We don’t like to brag (okay, maybe just a little), but we’re thrilled that our programming helps local shops like Park Books not only plan fun inventory tie-ins, but also meet new customers and make magic in the margins.

If you haven’t been inside lately, here’s your sign. Whether you're looking for a beach read, a bedtime story, or just a place where everyone knows your favorite author—Park Books is where your next chapter starts.

🪩 Bonus tip: Melody is low-key hilarious and high-key dedicated to this community. Stop in, say hi, and maybe leave with a new book and a new friend.

Thanks for being part of our Silver Sponsorship circle, Melody. We couldn’t write this story without you.
